From WSOP Reports
This was Michael Persky’s first World Series Circuit Ring, but that doesn’t mean he’s inexperienced. It’s not even the first time he had a legitimate chance at a Ring this month.
In Event 1, Persky finished in 20th for $1,077 to begin a new WSOP player resume. Then, in event 3, he made it all the way to heads-up play against Albert Gorelik (who actually won two Rings at Graton).
With two Graton cashes adding up to $55,977, Persky already had a successful Circuit stop. “I had a good series,” he said.
When explaining why he prefers to play in the Bay Area he said, “my problem is I love my family, and for me to be away from my family to play the big events is super difficult for me.”
“The Bay Area is a Mecca for poker, there’s a lot of good places to play,” Persky, who lives in nearby Novato, CA, told Poker.org after the win when asked about his experience playing at Graton.
