Poker pro Matthew Higgins topped a 4,704 player field in the $1M GTD opening event of the 2024 “Heater” poker series at the Beau Rivage in Biloxi, MS., for $222,091 and the trophy.
Higgins, who calls Rossville, GA home, now has over $1.6M in live tournament earnings, according to the Hendon Mob poker database that listed his winnings at $1,382,669 prior to the victory.
Chris Dewhurst from Biloxi, MS finished second, good for $140,005. The number two all-time WSOPC ring winner Maurice Hawkins took home $98,947 for third.
