BILOXI, Miss. – Greg Peoples from Hoover, Alabama topped a massive field of 1,638 to take the top prize of $46,197 in Event #1 at the 2019 Gulf Coast Poker Championship taking place at the Beau Rivage Resort & Casino. The $476,020 prize pool easily surpassed the $300,000 guarantee, once again providing players with great value for the $360 buy-in event.
Event 2 was a One Day No Limit Hold ‘em $300 Buy-In with more than 200 total entrants with a whopping $53,325 total prize pool. Tony Dobyns came all the way from Texas to win first place winning $9,000
Event 3, the Big O $300 Buy-In drew in 88 entrants, bringing the total prize pool to $20,856. Chase Smith from Savannah, TN took home first a $4,575 win.
Play continues on Tuesday September 10 at 11 a.m. with the $300 Seniors No-Limit Hold’em event and the $500 Pot Limit Omaha at 4 p.m. The $50k MONSTER highlights Wednesday’s schedule which also includes a nightly Super Satellite to the main event. See remaining event schedule here.
The $1,350 main event has starting flights on Saturday and Sunday both at 1 p.m., culminating Monday when the fields combine for the (1 p.m.) re-start. Last years event swelled to nearly half a million dollars. Defending champion Tim Burt will be looking to defend his title.
Others expected to attend the main include top pro Kyle Cartwright, presumably without the pups.
Good to be home from St. Louis. Missed these guys and the wifey. Came kinda close in the main but wasn’t meant to be. Next up is Beau Rivage main this weekend. pic.twitter.com/k2hwwDeZFh
